Personal history:
With inherited characteristics of his grandfather (Tenzing Norgay Sherpa - the first ascent of Everest), Tashi Tshering Sherpa is well known for his abilities to guide and led the adventure groups in the icy wilderness. Tashi was born in Darjeeling, India. He is the youngest son of Pem Pem (eldest daughter of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa) His mother was also a renowned climber but had a tragic end in an expedition. Tashi completed his schooling from St. Paul’s School and joined Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology in the University of New Delhi. Tashi was very much interested in outdoor adventure activities – because of his efforts he was able to establish Delhi University Climbing Club. He excelled the entire climbing and outdoor adventure course at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute in Darjeeling and graduated as an instructor.
Experiences and the area of expertise:

Due to his high interest in trekking and climbing, Tashi engaged himself in various trekking and climbing trips in Nepal, Tibet, Pakistan, India and many more. Tashi always dreamt of conquering Mount Everest as his grandfather did. In 1993 Tashi got an opportunity to lead the 40th Anniversary Everest Expedition to mark the 40th anniversary of the first successful expedition of his grandfather. Unfortunately, Tashi missed the summit just by 400 m because of the unfavorable weather conditions. However, with his intense enthusiasm to climb Everest, Tashi reached the summit of the Mt. Everest on 1997 and again on 2002. He also conquered Mt. Everest from the Tibet side on 2007. Tashi has acquired various trekking and expedition knowledge through his experience. He has worked for Australian Antarctic Division and has also guided many adventure groups. Tashi has accomplished various expeditions like Aurora Expeditions and others. He has also worked in a filming project and had spent many months in Antarctica Peninsula. With his assistance and guidance many expeditors have made successful expeditions of many across the globe. His areas of expertise are mountaineering, climbing, trekking and other adventure related activities.
Other Achievements:
Tashi along with Judy have also published a book named Tenzing and the Sherpas of Everest as a tribute to Sherpa’s and his grandfather for their immense contribution for Himalayan exploration and mountaineering.
